Abstract:  Economic and Financial Administration and the Material Support of the Clergy According to the Canon Law.A Possible Interpretation of Codex Canonum Ecclesiarum Orientalium. The possibility to search solutions or means to address some economic and financial difficulties caused by the recent global crisis requires from the Church and from other aid organizations, national and international, a judicious reflection on this reality. This reflection should initially start from the analysis of the means that are at the disposal of the Church and from the perusal of the surrounding reality; a reflection on some possibly theoretical and difficult to implement matters such as the canon law, but a reflection that can, at least in theory, offer a frame for a possible future action regarding the regulation of the economic realities and the sustenance of the pastoral activities of the priests, and more. The present study proposes an analysis of this reality starting from the presentation of certain documents from the previous legislation and will continue with a highlight on the current legislation in terms of administration of the material assets within the Church.

Keywords: Canon law, financial administration, material assets, particular law, patrimony, fair remuneration, property administrator, collegial acts.
